Digital Detours: Fourth of July Edition

This digital detour series is a monthly one, but my 4th of July weekend was jam packed with such fun activities that I couldn’t wait until the end of the month to share these great photos. If you want to join in on the conversation, add the hashtag #digitaldetour to your Instagram or Twitter photos!

Birthday Party Favors

I made these adorable red, white and blue elastic hair ties for all the ladies who attended my husband’s beach birthday party! It was a little windy that day and all the girls needed an extra tie to hold their hair back! (You can check out these and other great gift bag ideas at my Etsy shop.)

Make Time for Fitness

I knew we were going to be out of the house for a long time on Saturday, so I made sure to take these two guys out for a long walk around the neighborhood. They enjoyed the scenery and the exercise. I have no doubt that they slept the majority of the afternoon while their parents were at the beach. (Check out how I realigned my summer fitness goals and included these two guys in the mix!)

My first Snapchat Geofilter!

I created this Snapchat Geofilter all on my own! I used Adobe Illustrator and personalized the filter for my husband’s birthday! It ran from 2pm-8pm and the geofence enclosed the entire beach club. He loved it and I just can’t wait to create filters for other occasions!

#CabanaLife

How pretty is this photo? We celebrated my husband’s birthday at our cabana at Nickerson Beach Club. All of his friends came down for a day of beach, pool, BBQ and beer. It was a great day and he had a blast!

This gorgeous sunset photo was taken only minutes after the first one but on the other side of the cabana. How crazy that with a turn of your head, the sky could look so different?

UnReal Sunset

The weather on Sunday wasn’t the greatest, so after running some errands and binge-watching UnReal on the Lifetime channel, I decided to go outside to enjoy this beautiful sky that was right in my own backyard!

Happy Birthday, America!

On the actual 4th of July, my friend Natalie and I headed back down to the cabana to enjoy an afternoon of sunshine and Corona Lights! We basked in the sun while listening to reggae music and even took a dip in the pool! We capped off the day by grabbing a late lunch at The Buoy Bar in Point Lookout. This spot is right on the bay and these Sesame Tuna Tacos were out of this world! (Follow me on Instagram for more pictures from that day!)

I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend!
