Digital Detours: June 2016

Can you believe June is already over? I can’t; I felt like I blinked and I missed it. Except, I have these amazing photos to prove that I actually was a busy lady during the month of June.

This month was packed to the brim with all sorts of social activities and we literally had minimal down time. I’m not complaining; I love a full schedule, but a day here and there to binge watch some OITNB wouldn’t of been terrible.

Dinner with my Girlfriends

Our lives are insanely busy now that the majority have children, and jobs, and LIVES. Years ago, we used to spend all of our free time together and now we are lucky if we see each other once a month. This month, we got together at a local restaurant on the water and celebrated our 10 year “friendiversary”. Actually, we didn’t even realize it had been 10 years to the day until we started scrolling through some old pictures. 10 years since we came together as a group… we have been through it all together and I’m blessed to be surrounded by such an amazing group of ladies.

Cheap Thrills

Who doesn’t love a great deal? A friend of mine found this great local salon that offers $15 or $25 blowouts. If you couldn’t tell by the picture, I have long, thick hair. It normally takes about an hour for me to blow out my hair myself and it sure as hell doesn’t look salon professional. I’d much rather pay someone else to do it for me, especially if we are going out to a nice dinner or event.

Dance, Dance, Dance

My niece, Lauren, participated in her first dance recital this month. We sat in a high school auditorium amongst proud parents, siblings and friends and watched dance routine after dance routine. When my niece walked out on stage and started her routine, I was overcome with emotion. This little girl, in a blue and white costume, had the biggest smile on her face. Words can’t describe how adorable she truly was and with everything bad that was going on in the world on that day, she brought the sunshine into our lives.

With Friends Like These…

My husband has some really amazing friends. They have known each other for an eternity, all attending the same high school, playing on the same sports teams, and standing side-by-side at each other’s weddings. This bond that they have is pretty special. When I first met my husband’s friends, I was nervous; it’s intimidating to walk in to a group that has been friends for over 2o years. But they immediately made me feel like a part of them and I am lucky to have them as friends.

To Have and To Hold Your Hair Back

This was the month of elastic hair ties. My Etsy shop was busy as ever with custom requests coming in every week. I love putting together pretty sets for these bachelorette parties; these ties are the perfect addition to any goody bag.
