Check out last year’s post (featured on my old blog) about some of Montauk’s hottest spots!
Montauk, New York has become one of my favorite vacation spots, not only because it’s a short hour and a half car ride, but because I love the beach town. If your hotel is in town, you can walk to almost anything, and if you can’t walk it, it’s a short cab ride away.
We always like to grab a drink after dinner, and there are many great spots to do so. If you make your way to “The End”, make sure you check out one of these hot spots!
A great beachside location with two floors, three bars, and a dining area, this restaurant / bar is a tourist favorite. Live music, great drink specials and a relaxed atmosphere, The Sloppy Tuna has something for everyone. When the sun sets, the music gets louder, the drinks get stronger and the vibe heats up. Summer weekends are always packed; weekdays have a great crowd with room at the bar. They also have two outdoor areas which is great when the weather is nice.
If you have never heard of this spot, I’m not surprised. This spot is located north of the center of town, tucked away on the water’s edge, in a residential neighborhood. We first discovered this spot last year through a recommendation from a friend of my husband’s. Live music, great beer selection and outdoor picnic tables overlook the water and is the perfect spot to watch the sunset. The sunset is NOT TO BE MISSED (as you can see below!) This is our favorite spot and is a must-see if you are in the area!
I am so glad we came here for dinner; the food was great and the view was even better! I wrote about this great spot the other day (click here to read!). Not only was the food great, but once the sun sets, the place gets packed with beautiful, young 20-30 somethings, dancing to the music of the resident DJ, all ready for a night out.
Since we were only in Montauk for an extended weekend, we didn’t manage to get over to The Surf Lodge. It is the new trendy spot in the East End and when we passed it on the road, the line to get in was pretty long. I’d advise eating dinner there first, and then hanging around for the sunset and night-time activities. With some spectacular sunsets and relaxing outdoor atmosphere, stop by this trendy hangout spot and let me know!
