Hostess with the Mostess

Hostess with the Mostess

“And I like large parties. They’re so intimate. At small parties there isn’t any privacy.” -F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby

love throwing parties. I’ve been doing it since college. Whether it is an intimate dinner, my own birthday party, a New Years Eve bash, or a backyard soiree, I genuinely love planning these types of events.

I have my mother to thank for that.

She always had her hand in some sort of event. Over the years, I have taken all that I have learned from my mother and used it to throw some great parties for our family and friends.

If you are hosting a holiday dinner party or cocktail party this winter, I’ve compiled a list of some of my favorite holiday appetizers.

Crockpot Cranberry Chipotle Meatballs

Any recipe that calls for the crockpot is an instant success in my book. These were SO good, even my husband, who is a picky eater, loved them! It is the right amount of sweet and spicy and there is plenty to go around!

Spicy Spinach Artichoke Dip

Who doesn’t love a good dip? This dip is great for not only a holiday party, but bring it to your next football tailgate party for an instant crowd pleaser!

Raspberry Brie Bites

Classic appetizer – I’ve been making these for years. They are so creamy and sweet and just a quick bite which always makes you come back for more.

Cheese Board

A cheese board goes a long way and this one is no exception.

Bacon Wrapped Dates

Candy for your soul. I’m telling you – my mom has been making this appetizer for years. Anything with bacon in it is bound to be tasty, right? This tastes like pure candy and I’m not even mad about it.

  • I also LOVE throwing parties and have been it for years…I hosted all of our after prom parties in high school 🙂 can’t wait to check out these yummy recipes!

  • So jealous! I have never lived in a great space for hosting parties– have the smallest apartment out of all my friends, etc. But I do love parties, and especially love party FOOD. Raspberry and brie sounds like heaven on earth. Thanks for making my mouth water!
